"It's the Simple Things in Life"
This homemade toothpaste recipe came about after I combed through Nadine Artemis ”Holistic Dental Care” book. The basic principal I learned from Nadine’s book is that teeth are alive and we should eat wholesome food to help them grow. The nutrients we put into our body enter the tooth enamel via the roots and strengthen them. Secondly the membrane inside of our mouth is paper thin and anything we put in our mouth enters our blood stream immediately, be it beneficial or toxic. That’s why I choose to make my own toothpaste. It’s infused with super beneficial essential oils, coconut oil and good old baking soda that truly does a great job at whitening the teeth. I love how refreshing my mouth feels after brushing my teeth with this toothpaste.
5 tablespoons of baking soda
7 tablespoons coconut oil
10 drops of Mint & Myrrh Tooth Serum*
Place the baking soda into a medium sized bowl. Mix in the essential and coconut oils. Transfer the mixture to a pretty container. Use a little spoon to scoop about a ¼ teaspoon amount worth of toothpaste out and place on the bristles of your dry tooth brush.
* I like to get a special blend of essential oils from Living Libations. On this site you will find helpful videos on how to take care of your teeth.
