Little Daily Gem is a lifestyle blog that shines a bright light on the simple things in life. Actress, model and mother of two, Inna Korobkina shares tips on how to bring more joy and beauty into your life as well as gentle suggestions on how to nurture yourself, your loved ones and our planet.
Inna grew up in a very small town of Magadan, in very cold Siberia. During the summertime, she would visit her grandmothers in Southern Russia who each had the most beautiful, flourishing garden. This is how she grew to truly appreciate and love freshly picked, sun-kissed fruits and vegetables.
Inna was ten years old when her family emigrated to Canada. She spent her early teen years participating in an assortment of competitive sports, including basketball, volleyball and swimming.
Upon a friend's suggestion, Inna decided to give modeling a try and discovered instant success with a series of jobs and editorial spreads. She booked her first big ad campaign at the age of 15, representing Alfred Sung Bridal. She continued to work for many local and international clients including M.A.C Cosmetics, The Hudson Bay Company, Town & Shoes, Ford, Mazda, Marshall’s, Nestle Chocolate and many others. She has appeared in such magazines as Flare, Fashion, Toronto Life, Weddings and graced the cover of Los Angeles’ Time Magazine West representing an article on natural beauty.
While studying Fashion Communications at Ryerson University—which provided her with extensive knowledge of the history of fashion, art and design—Inna made the decision to switch over to studying the art of acting. Thus, at age 20, she began a journey towards uniting body, mind and spirit through the examination and expression of human behavior.
Inna experienced the expert guidance of several teachers at prestigious schools including York University Theatre, Anthony Mancini in Toronto, Warren Robertson in Montreal, and Circle in the Square in New York.
Inna has had the opportunity to play a wide range of characters. From a scared and pregnant Russian immigrant turned flesh-eating zombie in Zack Snyder’s Dawn of the Dead (2004), a tough gangster in Michael Bay’s Transformers: Dark of the Moon, a playful dancer in the popular Canadian The Border to Steven Segal’s wife in Driven to Kill (2009), Inna’s professional experience and extensive training allows her to transform from one role to the next.
Inna has had great fortune to have been directed by Academy Award winners Anjelica Huston and Tony Goldwyn and to act alongside such terrific talents as Ving Rhames, John Turturro, Ty Burrell, Sarah Polley and numerous others.
Today Inna is a busy mom of two. She adores discovering clever ways to get her kids to eat healthily. During quiet moments, she enjoys curling up with a good book, and loves vintage shopping and sharing a cup of tea with her friends (her British husband has instilled her with this love of tea). Inna voraciously reads up on all sources concerned with health, parenting, gardening, fashion, cooking. She is thrilled to distill and share her discoveries with her readers through this blog and hopes a Little Daily Gem will help your world to sparkle.
