Hi there I'm Inna and I created this blog to share all the simple things in life that tickle my fancy. Life can be so hectic, so busy and overwhelming that remembering to get down to the basics always helps me stay grounded. It's from that place I like to operate. How about you? If you are craving simplicity, you have come to the right place. Join me on my journey as I explore eco-fashion, holistic beauty rituals and recipes, mindfulness and conscious parenting techniques. Art, beauty, fashion, nature, books, gardening, gift ideas, cooking - I discuss it all, and more. Welcome!
I grew up in a very small town of Magadan, in Siberia. Yes Siberia was freezing, but also absolutely stunning. During the summertime my brother and I savored visiting our grandparents in Souther Russia where they all had flourishing gardens. This is how I grew to appreciate freshly picked, sun-kissed fruits and vegetables. It's this early life lesson, that ingredients make the dish, that inspires the recipes you will find on this blog and in my upcoming cookbook Gem Recipes.
I was ten years old when my family emigrated to Canada and I spent my early teen years participating in an assortment of competitive sports, including basketball, volleyball and swimming. I was a tall giant as a teen and upon a friend's suggestion I gave modeling a try to discover success with a series of jobs and editorial spreads. I booked my first big ad campaign at the age of 15, representing Alfred Sung Bridal and continued to work for many local Canadian and international clients.
While studying Fashion Communications at Ryerson University—which provided me with extensive knowledge of history, fashion, art and design—I made the decision to switch over to studying the art of acting. Thus, at age 20, began a journey towards uniting body, mind and spirit through the examination and expression of human behavior.
I am deeply grateful to have been able to work with incredible teachers, including Anthony Mancini and Warren Robertson, and study at prestigious schools, including York University in Toronto and Circle in the Square in New York.
The characters I have had a chance to play include Luda, a pregnant Russian immigrant turned flesh-eating zombie in Zack Snyder’s Dawn of the Dead (2004), a tough Russian gangster in Michael Bay’s Transformers: Dark of the Moon, a playful dancer in the popular Canadian The Border and Steven Segal’s wife in Driven to Kill (2009). I have had great fortune to have been directed by Academy Award winners Anjelica Huston and Tony Goldwyn and to act alongside such terrific talents as Ving Rhames, John Turturro, Ty Burrell, Sarah Polley and numerous others.
Today I'm a busy mom of two with a passion to share holistic wisdom and nurture the world in my own way. Little Daily Gem blog is my vehicle of sharing this information. Thank you for coming on this ride with me. I hope Little Daily Gem will help your world to sparkle.
